Released in 1992 on the Geffen label, The American in Me was an excellent follow up to Streets of This Town. Recorded in North Hollywood and produced by Pete Anderson (Dwight Yoakam, Michelle Shocked), it is Steve’s first “adult” themed album featuring songs such as “Responsibility” and “It is what it is ( and that’s all)".
